We got one of each, the original and the black cat. We can't decide which one we like best. The original is more like a sticky cream, whereas the black cat is solid, like most pomades are. Both products are sticky, as pomades should be, yet without a weird residue. These products work great for short pixie cuts as well as for longer short cuts. My teenage son likes that it holds his style all day long. I think that the cream vs. the pomade would be a personal preference thing. The smell is very natural and pleasant and it doesn't freak anyone's skin out. We have very sensitive skin in our family. It also washes out very easily. Really glad Amazon carries this product.

I love this stuff! Its creamier in the jar than any pomade I’ve used before, but it holds exactly like I want it too. It works in easily and is restylable with a comb. That’s a huge plus for me. Give it a try and you’ll love it.

There is a lot to like starting with the fact that it is in scented, which those of us with sensitivities to fragrance appreciate. It only takes a very small amount, especially if you have short hair. That said, it does leave a sort of sticky feel to your hair. The hold is epic. You can go to bed and get up the next day with your hair still in place. I tend to use this when I need to look presentable, but less diligent about using it for general staying at home and no one is going to see my hair days. I would love a lighter formula for those days with less sticky feel to it.

I own a lot of pomades and tried this after listening to the owners on the Behind the Brew podcast share how unique their pomade was. And WOW are they right! This pomade is unlike anything I've ever used before. It has the consistency of a cream or very soft butter. So you would figure that with that type of easy scoupability and ease of putting it in your hair (no tugging or pulling) it wouldn't hold well. Well, you'd be really wrong. Not only is this the easiest pomade I've ever scooped or put into my hair, but its holding power is magnificent. And, it's not one of those glue like gels that hardens your hair. Your hair stays pretty soft and workable if you need to restyle. Well done guys. This is an outstanding pomade that I very highly recommend!

Absolute GOLD. I usually don't write reviews unless I am blown away and I have to say that this product has been wonderful. I've tried Shiner Gold, Layrite, Uppercut- you name it and I've used it... This is on another level and I love that I am supporting a small business that makes these in batches. It holds very well and can handle the weight of my heavy of my hair for all day hold. It also has a great aroma that isn't very overwhelming but noticeable. One thing I will say is that it isn't very viscous and the first time I tried it, I doubted whether it would be able to last all day, but it has truly surprised me. As long as these guys make a quality product at a good value, I'll keep supporting. Good job!

Super strong, does what it promises. You don’t need much! Love this stuff. Definitely don’t put in dry hair or you’ll be tugging and so sticky you rip out hairs. But if you apply with even a little moisture (even just hardly damp or wetting your fingers a little before running through hair), it goes in smooth and easy me drys nicely without too much sheen. I like it because it’s probably the strongest product I’ve ever experienced in the past 5 years of pursuing switching to all-natural products. It’s not “all natural” entirely, but in this day and age you sort of have to pick your poison, so to speak: either all natural but not a good hold (common), or sacrifice the natural ingredients so you can have a strong hold (even more common). This pomade strikes a sweet spot (rare!): I know and can pronounce almost all the ingredients. The only one I’m concerned or wonder about is “hydrogenated castor oil” (can’t find out if this is a “bad” kind or not), and “fragrance oils” (often it’s the “fragrance” that makes a product unsavory or otherwise toxic these days. Not sure if these fragrances are synthetic and harmful, or natural clean oils.) Would love to hear back from the company on these concerns and questions. I’ll probably buy another jar regardless! Well done!
